Rohan and Phil are here to break down the 2025.3 release, which brings more dashboard improvements, and discuss the latest “voice chapter” update. Meanwhile SmartThings collaborates with Home Assistant to ensure their integration keeps working for Home Assistant users

New Features

  • Dashboard view Headers
When using the sections layout, a new heading style is available!
  • Tile Cards
There’s been various improvements to tile cards
  • Assist can now stream responses
  • OpenAI now supports more models
The OpenAI conversation integration now supports the o1, o1-preview, o1-mini, and o3-mini reasoning models.
  • Unifi
UniFi version 9 introduced zone based rules. These are now supported in the Unifi integration
  • Govee
    Govee lights now support effects
  • SmartThings
@joostlek completely rewrote the SmartThings integration! In december, SmartThings shut down the authentication method that we used to use to connect with their platform. During the last 2 months we collaborated with SmartThings to get the integration up and running again. No more need to request a personal access token! You can just sign in using your Samsung account (like how you are used to with for example OneDrive). Another improvement we have done is that to get push updates, you don’t need to expose your instance to the internet anymore!
  • There is now a device class for windspeed sensors
  • Media Player
Media player entities which support browsing media now have a new action available to browse media as an action with a response.
  • Maps
This release improves the map card by adding marker clustering. This makes currently stacked entities visible as well. When spidered, the entity markers show a line to the original coordinates. Clustering can be disabled temporarily with a toggle.

New Integrations

  • Azure storage
You can now store your backups on Azure
  • WebDAV
Use any WebDAV compatible service as a target location for your backups.
  • IOMeter
    German brand offering sensors
  • PG LAB Electronics
Our devices are designed to work with Home Assistant and MQTT.
This makes them flexible to install and set up.
  • SensorPush (Cloud)
Wireless sensors with alerts for monitoring temperature, humidity and more.
  • SNOO
Get the state of your SNOO Smart Sleeper Bassinet into Home Assistant. US ony.

Backward-incompatible Changes

  • Proximity
The distance is now measured to the edge of the monitored zones (it takes the radius into account), instead of to the center of the zone as before. This leads to slightly different expected distance values, which you may have to adjust accordingly in your existing
    automations.
  • SmartThings
There are a lot of states that are renamed, this might need an update in your automations or other config.
  • SynologyDSM
The scan interval option has been removed, and the default of 15 minutes is used. If needed, there is an integration-independent and common way to set a custom polling interval.
