Section dashboard layouts are now official. LG comes to the party creating an official LG ThinQ integration. Phil and Rohan discuss the modern cord cutter dilemma

New Features

  • Sections are now official
The new sections type dashboards are now marked as stable!
  • Converting old dashboards to sections
There is now an ability to convert masonry type dashboards to the new sections layout. If you change the type of a view to sections you get a button to convert the view. All the cards of the old view are then placed in an imported cards section, and you can drag them into sections.
  • Low Latency Cameras
Camera streams will now try to use WebRTC when possible. WebRTC streams are a peer-to-peer connection, using the fastest and most direct path.

Sometimes a direct connection between the client and camera is not possible, for those situations the stream needs to be relayed by an external server. Home Assistant Cloud by Nabu Casa provides this relay server for all Home Assistant Cloud subscribers!
  • Blueprints for Template Entities
  • Home Assistant Supervisor Logs
Can now be viewed “live”, no more refresh buttons required.
  • Fibaro
You can now see power sensors when using the Fibaro integration (ie Fibaro Home Centre or Yubii Home Hub)
  • Husqvarna Automower
New work area sensors allowing you to see progress percent and the last time the area was mowed.
  • Spotify
There are new sensors to the Spotify integration, giving you more information on what is being played. The sensors include
  • Meter Pro for Switchbot
Is now supported. Switchbot cloud also gets support for locks

New Integrations

  • Husqvarna Automower BLE
Integrate your Husqvarna lawnmower using Bluetooth. The integration is based on AutoMower-BLE, an unofficial reverse engineered Husqvarna Automower Connect BLE library.
  • Palazzetti
Control Palazetti stoves using a local connection. The Palazetti integration offers a climate entity that allows you to read the room temperature, start and stop the stove, set the target temperature, and set the fan speed.
  • LG ThinQ
There has been HACS component connecting to the LG ThinQ API for a while, but 2024.11 now brings an official integration to Home Assistant, created and contributed by LG Themselves!
  • Music Assistant
Finally lands an official integration to Home Assistant. You can now integrate Home Assistant with Music Assistant without a custom HACS component.

Backward-incompatible Changes

  • HomeKit
Historically, many integrations implemented doorbells as binary sensors with a device class of occupancy. This design was replaced with the new event entities, which use a purpose-built device class of doorbell.

HomeKit will no longer automatically link binary sensors with device class occupancy as a linked doorbell sensor. Linked doorbell sensors can continue to be configured manually via YAML.
  • Netatmo
The preset modes of the thermostat have been renamed in order to support translations Schedule, Frost guard and Manual has been renamed to schedule, frost_guard and manual.
  • Updates
State attributes of update entities have been changed:
  • Google Domains, Spider, Bloomsky
    No longer available
  • Declined Google Calendar Alerts
Will no longer be displayed in the calendar
