2021.9
New Features
- Battery and Gas Energy monitoring now added Following on from 2021.8’s energy theme, Home Assistant can now report on gas consumption, as well as your home battery storage.
- Week/Month/Year view added to energy dashboard
- More sensor types now have long term statistic support In the previous release we started seeing Home Assistant being able to report and display long-term statistics from sensors, like energy consumption. This has now been rolled out to many more integrations and sensor types. Some new platforms getting energy and long-term statistics include: Speedtest.net OVO Energy Deconz Solax inverters
- USB Devices now recognised When you plug a known USB device into Home Assistant (like a Z-wave/Zigbee stick) it will now be recognised
- Zwave JS value updated trigger If you’re using Z-wave JS, there are times where the z-wave JS project will make updates that aren’t ready for Home Assistant just yet. These come in the form of Command Classes. There’s a new automation trigger type called zwave_js.value_updated, which will allow you to trigger automations off of any Command Class value that zwave-js supports. This will allow you to make your own automations against your devices which are better supported in Zwave JS, but haven’t made it over to Home Assistant just yet.
- New service to complete completed shopping list items Makes the Home Assistant shopping list that little bit more powerful by being able to automatically mark items as complete within automations.
- Airtouch 4 The AirTouch 4 integration allows you to control Ducted Air Conditioning Systems that are using the AirTouch 4 Controller. Currently, this integration only supports AirTouch 4 controllers with the Individual Temperature Control (ITC) modules.
- P1 Monitor The P1 Monitor integration integrates the P1 Monitor API platform with Home Assistant. P1 Monitor is a platform that allows you to read the data from your smart meter via the serial port (P1), such as your energy consumption, but also that of gas or a water meter.Marcel’s P1 Module: https://www.zuidwijk.com/p1-modules/ https://twitter.com/zuidwijk/status/1426968636196020224
- Tractive Tractive is an Austrian company that develops real-time location trackers for pets and other animals using GPS and GSM technology. The Tractive integration allows you to monitor locations of your pets from within Home Assistant and set up automations based on the information.
- Nanoleaf, Nmap Tracker, Rainforest Eagle and Uptime Robot moving to UI configuration YAML config will be imported and can be removed after you restart Home Assistant.
- SimpliSafe locks now get Jammed support
- MQTT Alarm Panels now support vacation mode
Breaking Changes
There’s more on the release notes!- Homekit The underlying HomeKit protocol version has changed from version 1.0 to version 1.1.
- Tesla Powerwall The Tesla Powerwall attributes for energy_exported_(in_kW) and energy_imported_(in_kW) have been converted to their own energy sensors.
- Wink The Wink integration has been deprecated and is pending removal in Home Assistant 2021.11. Their developer portal, needed for obtaining an API token, has been taken offline and their customer support has confirmed no new token or client/secret can be obtained. This makes it impossible to use this integration.
- Homekit Controller A future release (currently scheduled for 2021.12.0) will remove the (deprecated) air quality platform from the HomeKit Controller integration. Starting from this release the air quality values have been broken out as their own sensors, making them easier to incorporate in your dashboard widgets, graphs and automations.
